Privacy and demo boundaries
Eat Local is a portfolio demonstration. It does not operate a restaurant marketplace, process payment, or send orders to restaurants.
Information used in your browser
The application may store your colour theme, favourite fictional restaurants, and an expiring cart in local storage. A recent demo receipt is stored for the current browser session. You can remove this data through your browser’s site-data controls or by clearing the cart.
Location
Location is requested only when you press a location button. Coordinates are used in the browser to estimate distance to fictional sample points. This static application does not transmit or retain your coordinates.
Demo checkout
Name, telephone number, and optional delivery address are validated in the browser. They are not sent to a server. The confirmation keeps only the first name, fictional restaurant, ordered items, and demonstration reference for the current session; the telephone number and address are discarded.
Service worker and offline use
A service worker may cache public application files and previously visited pages so the shell remains useful offline. It does not cache personal checkout fields.
Analytics, advertising, and third parties
No analytics, advertising, payment, map, restaurant, or food-delivery service is loaded by this build. The original repository’s exposed third-party API approach was intentionally removed.
Fictional data
Restaurant names, menu items, addresses, prices, ratings, reviews, availability, and delivery estimates are invented for demonstration. Do not rely on them for real-world decisions.
